Frances Perkins

Frances Perkins served as U.S. Secretary of Labor from 1933 to 1945 under President Franklin D. Roosevelt. She was the first woman to hold a cabinet position in the United States and a driving force behind the New Deal, spearheading the creation of Social Security, unemployment insurance, and the federal minimum wage.
