Shilo Brooks

Shilo Brooks is president and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center and Professor of Practice in Political Science at Southern Methodist University. He has previously taught at Princeton, the University of Virginia, the University of Colorado, and Bowdoin College. Raised in poverty in a small Texas town, he nearly did not attend college after his stepfather stole his mother's savings. He advocates for reading great works of literature as a means of building character and purpose in young men.
