María Corina Machado

María Corina Machado is a Venezuelan opposition leader, industrial engineer, and former member of parliament. She led the fight against Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro, and in 2024, her stand-in candidate Edmundo González won the presidential election before Maduro seized power. Awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, she has been described as Venezuela’s 'Iron Lady.'
