Claude Shannon

Claude Shannon (1916–2001) was an American mathematician, electrical engineer, and cryptographer who founded information theory, laying the intellectual foundation for the digital age. His curiosity led him to work on topics as varied as cryptography, artificial intelligence, juggling, and chess-playing machines.
